Video Tip: How long can a client listen to your pitch?
Today, we take a look at long your pitch should be. Have you ever had people complain that the pitch was too short? Very rarely.
Why is that?
Well, it’s tough to come up with something short and punchy that covers all the key points. It’s much easier to come up with something long and rambly, so a good rule of thumb when you’re preparing is to think about how long people can listen to you.
Research suggests that after about 15 minutes, you’ve lost about 70% of the audience. So, when preparing your pitch, we suggest that you write it out, speak it out and time it, and then edit it down so that it comes out at about 15 minutes.
