In 1987, Microsoft came out with PowerPoint and, as it was easy to use, it became the industry standard, but as you also know, since then it’s been overused and abused, and so has created some real enemies.
So, what’s our view? Well, we believe it can be helpful, and we coach people on how to use it effectively. It really boils down to purpose, the purpose of a good visual aid is to support the speaker, not vice versa.
Step one is first to come up with a really good story then ask yourself what would be the best way of illustrating some of my points.
